Track & Field - Coach Ryan Chism - RChism@LWSD.org
General Information Cut Sports - Baseball, Fastpitch, Men’s Soccer, & Women’s Golf are cut sports. Athletes must be cleared to participate and be present for try-outs to make the team. In the very rare circumstances that this is not possible, you must contact the athletic office and coach prior to try-outs.
Please note that vacation is not a valid reason for missing tryouts. Athletes that are cut during tryouts will have an opportunity to switch over to one of our non-cut sports (we want you to be involved!)
High School Athletic Commitments – Please note that joining a high school sports team requires a high level of commitment and that practices/competitions occur 5-6 days per week, every week. We are fortunate in that there are many great opportunities that students can be involved in, but please know that the expectation of joining our programs is that athletes are at practices.
Physicals - Sports physicals are required for participation. The physical form can be found on FinalForms and must be filled out and signed by a doctor - appointments fill up quickly so please stay ahead of this. You can email, drop-off, or upload the physical to FinalForms (pdf only please, photos don’t come through legibly).
Injury/medical questions are handled by our Athletic Trainer, Coach Kayla Cunningham - Kayla.Cunningham@SeattleChildrens.org - Kayla is awesome and we are lucky to have her!
Payments - Specific information can be found on the Athletic Fees form during registration, but please don't hesitate to reach out if you have questions! You can satisfy the participation fees in 3 ways:
Pay via the LWSD payments site or in person at the bookkeeper’s window, Speak with the bookkeeper about a payment plan, or if your family is qualified for Free & Reduced Lunch, you are able to have your fees waived. A big point of emphasis for families receiving Free and Reduced Lunch is the consent to share form, which needs to be completed each year.
The payments button on FinalForms is a manual process that Ms. Blanch will update, so please don't be concerned if FF doesn't show you as paid right away!
Schedules - please visit ArbiterLive for up-to-date schedule information. You can also “subscribe” to get notifications on schedule changes (especially helpful in the spring with rain-outs). Schedules are 99% complete, but there are often minor changes as registration helps schools determine numbers and what teams they will field. https://arbiterlive.com/Teams?entityId=11485
Running Start Students - we must have a Running Start contract on file for you to compete (in any season) This form helps us make sure you are taking the proper number of credits to be eligible to compete. We’re here to help with questions, but please make sure you have completed this important form and submitted it to the athletic office (this can be found on FinalForms as you register).
Transfer Students - if you are a 10th/11th/12th grader planning to play sports and were not at Juanita HS last year, please reach out so we can ensure you are eligible to compete. There is a packet of information we must complete together, and I’ll walk you through this. If you have any questions at all, please reach out! Week 1 info is posted on the JHS Athletics page and attached here - please don’t hesitate to reach out to coaches directly for sport specific questions.
For general questions, please email me or our wonderful athletic secretary, Ms. Kris Blanch (KBlanch@LWSD.org)
We can't wait to see you!
